Howard July 10, 2013 Music Video, News When Justin Timberlake let loose The 20/20 Experience, Timberlake’s first studio album since leaving us behind to keep 2006’s FutureSex LoveSounds in rotation for nearly seven years in waiting, RnB heads rejoiced. Initially, it was because #TimberlakeBack; but the rejoicing continued when it became clear that 20/20 was committed to reviving old school sound and keeping the soul in RnB that was being quickly diluted by the rise of Pop’n’B. Which is why when it was unveiled that Timberlake had a sequel to 20/20 due out later this year, it was like early Christmas. No new JT in over half a decade, and suddenly we were getting two projects out of him within months of one another. Today, Justin Timberlake revealed a hint of what we can expect on The 20/20 Experience Pt. II, by way of a brief music video for the album’s first single, “Take Back the Night.” But in true Timberlake fashion Remember that sh*t he pulled back in January? our initial introduction to it felt more like a tease as opposed to a full product, especially as he blurred out the single’s official release date. As September 30th – 20/20 Pt. II‘s anticipated release date – is fast approaching, here’s hoping the full version of the “Take Back the Night” (which clearly draws inspiration from Michael Jackson) emerges before July ends.
