We’ve marked a point in the career of Amber London where nothing she does in that smattering early 90s West Coast G-Funk vibe of hers shocks us. She knows exactly who she is as an artist and refuses to stray away from it. Tru 2 Tha Phonk bathes in a pool of bottomless 808 drums, synths and London’s cadence, sometimes authoritative, other times laid back. The Raider Klan member sees plenty of feature work on this robust 26-track effort but much like Le$ and his own ecosystem of slithering culture & homage twists, it’s still all entirely her own doing which makes this feel a bit special.
