Freddie Gibbs - Eastside Moonwalker

The countdown to Freddie Gibbs’ ESGN (East Side Gary N*ggas) album has officially begun. Having hit us with a one-two punch of samplers from the forthcoming album – in the form of “One Eighty Seven” and “Freddie Soprano” – Gibbs felt it was high time to liberate one of the album’s more-anticipated tracks, “Eastside Moonwalker.”

Jon Colombo handled the directing duties for “Eastside Moonwalker,” whose title implies that Gibbs drew inspiration from fellow Gary, Indiana native (and star of Gibbs’ youtube Masterpiece Theater moment) Michael Jackson. Though that isn’t exactly the case and the video leaves something to be desired – it clocks in at only 2:41, and one would hope the actual song is at least a little longer than that – the visuals for “Eastside Moonwalker” do have many memorable images, such as a fire-breathing Gangsta Gibbs and the Baby Face Killa posted up with some gorgeous eye candy at an abandoned crime scene.

Freddie Gibbs’ ESGN album is expected to drop next month, on July 9.
