Made available on NPR yesterday, Thundercat’s sophomore LP Apocalypse is now available for streaming. The bass heavy newness from the Brain Feeder artist is the follow up to 2011’s The Golden Age of the Apocalypse and features 14-tracks including “Heartbreaks + Setbacks”, “Oh Sheit It’s X” and more. In most parts, Apocalypse sounds sullen and low and that’s because most of the LP was written and recorded following the death of FlyLo band member and friend Austin Peralta. It ebbs and flows between the funk and the sorrow – making for a hell of an initial listen.

Apocalypse drops digitally next Tuesday (June 4) and physically on July 9.
