The Boy Illinois is making noise all on his own. After being a constant fixture on Sway In The Morning on Shade 45, the rapper became the first African-American period to perform at the Native American Music Awards. In a celebratory mood he releases “Pull Up”, a brief stint where everything seems to be going right as evident from his sing-song vocals and airy additions from Asia Monique and clamoring drums and synths from Rel Elite. Illi name drops the Bulls beating the Heat almost as en vogue as Ice Cube’s rattling “The Lakers beat the Supersonics” from “It Was A Good Day” but the Chicago kid could speak on his own pretty damn good adventure.
