Once upon a time, in an era where all ratchet things only existed on BET & MTV, VH1 drove the conversation of authentic hip-hop representation. That’s right, between Rock Docs, Behind The Music and more – VH1 was the place to go when you wanted a slice of hip-hop that didn’t damage your brain. Well … they did make that Michael Jackson movie with Flex Alexander as the “King Of Pop” or the dude who worked with Steve Carrell in The 40-Year Old Virgin playing MC Hammer for a biopic … and I’m also fairly certain they had Merlin Santana play a guy who was loosely based off 2Pac and had Faizon Love as some sort of Suge Knight influence so yeah, there’s some good and bad there.

But now they’ve got Basketball Wives, Love & Hip Hop and everything else under the sun that probably has birthed enough pain and misery to any man on a Monday night who wasn’t overly invested into it. Luckily enough, they have a chance to redeem themselves with Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story and they released the first cast picture with Drew Sidora as T-Boz, Keke Palmer as Chilli and Lil Mama as … well, that’s still Lil Mama dressed up as Left Eye.

The good thing is that Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas are serving as executive producers here so all blame can’t be dropped on VH1 but here’s what we’re all wondering – who is playing Andre Rison? And Dallas Austin? And Pebblez? Matter of fact, I’m getting nostalgic just thinking about how awesome Crazy, Sexy, Cool was back in ’94.
