This is sort of awkward. Here it is, Saturday afternoon on the eve of a few party nights for some and Lauryn Hill releases new music. Not about love, not about an old flame but her problems with Mr. Tax Man. Says Lauryn via Tumblr:

Here is a link to a piece that I was ‘required’ to release immediately, by virtue of the impending legal deadline. I love being able to reach people directly, but in an ideal scenario, I would not have to rush the release of new music… but the message is still there.

That being said, you automatically fear the worst with “Neurotic Society” because it’s literally label forced in a spot where we probably weren’t going to see new Hill material see the light of day. It might be a chore, it might be awkward but by Monday morning we’ll all be revisiting “Neurotic Society” with more than a few thoughts attached to it. Moved by the message?
