You know what sucks about today? It’s one of those dark moments in Houston rap history where we have to honor someone taken far too soon that bridged plenty of peace between both North & South sides. We have to deal with the tragic nature of the Hawkins family and how a mother lost both of her sons to senseless violence. In short, we’re dealing with the loss of HAWK, one of Houston’s more boisterous rappers who contributed to so many local classics there’s really no way to side step his legacy at all.

The big man was cut down at age 36 and even how the details remain sketchy at best. His murder remains unsolved but the love he had for the city was immeasurable. That’s why there’s a large tribute concert taking place tonight at Warehouse Live tonight in his honor. Special guests include Bun B, Devin The Dude, Trae Tha Truth as well as performances from ESG, Lil Keke, Big Pokey, Killa Kyleon, GRIT Boys, Doughbeezy, Dat Boi T, Kyle Lee, Chris Ward, Rawlt & Troublesum.

OG Ron C is steering this concert together for the benefit of HAWK, his widow Crystal Hawkins and more. It might be the best thing you get out of the city this month. Make your way to Warehouse Live tonight, just to bask in what was with the Screwed Up Click and also, what could have been.
