Why do Nino Gotti & WhyJae seemingly act like they’re an inseparable being hell bent on being Houston rap’s wonder twins of bar delivering fury and & might? Even with their two individual singles, the duo seemingly can’t get away from one another – both running along the same theme of being overly confident in the booth while also letting the small points of life come into play. For WhyJae it’s life as a rapper on the verge, for Gotti & his “Pay Attention” single, it’s a drag between real life, being a father and still being confident enough to lay waste to anybody not in his clique.

Over somber piano keys reminiscent of Meek Mill’s first half of “Dreams & Nightmares”, the Headwreckas gunner spends time using alliteration in pushing away blank faced villains and consistently displaying well rounded form. We know he can craft a track built upon a single subject (“Bow”) but cuts like “Pay Attention” work right into what “2 Easy” built up last summer – the kid can rap. And draw you in at the same damn time.
