Thanks to the powers of the internet, you can now hear what a 16-year old Kendrick Lamar sounded like recording music in Compton. Before he called himself K.Dot, before The Kendrick Lamar EP, hell before O(verly) D(edicated)Hub City Threat, Minor Of The Year is as rough as you can think a sixteen year-old rapper would make a mixtape. An original track from it surfaced but was quickly wiped off the face of the earth until today when The Masked Gorilla discovered the full tape, originally titled Youngest Nigga In Charge. Here, Lamar decides to catch wreck over some of the beats of the time from Lloyd Banks’ “Work Magic”, Lil Wayne’s “Go DJ” and more. Trust me, the internet TIs will probably take this down as well so download it post haste.
