As a sports fan, the NCAA Tournament boiled down to me wanting two things: Duke playing Michigan in Atlanta for the crown and Michigan winning it all. With “The Power Of Kevin Ware” derailing one half of that proposed dream, the new one centers around Michigan cutting down the nets with their most celebrated heroes from two decades ago looking on.

Jalen Rose seems to agree with me.

The former Michigan guard and Fab Five stand out will be in Atlanta with three other members of his legendary recruiting class – Jimmy King, Ray Jackson & Juwan Howard. The noticeable absent member of the crew? Chris Webber. Webber sadly will forever have a strained relationship with the university and the basketball program thanks to his infamous “Timeout” in the 1993 National Championship game and him pleading guilty in 2002 to criminal contempt in the Ed Martin case that subsequently made the school forfeit both of the Fab Five’s runs to the NCAA title game.

Webber’s ban from the university is up this year, meaning he and his four brothers could reunite for the championship game Monday night but it’s a dream scenario, one that Rose and the rest of America who followed the Fab Five and grew up on them wish would become reality. But, leave it to Rose and ESPN’s own Bill Simmons to sneak away during the Michigan/Syracuse game on Saturday night to record this podcast, once more pleading for C-Webb to come back to the family.
