GQ - I Know (f. Rapsody, Rocki Evans)
9th Wonder is creating an army – the JAMLA Army, to be exact. The super producer’s JAMLA Records label is home to Day & A Dream #BreakoutQueen (and likely 2013 XXL Freshman) Rapsody, but she’s far from the only soldier on the squad. Emerging emcee GQ is the next on deck in the JAMLA movement, with his Death Threats & Love Notes: The Prelude album due out next week. To further prepare the people for what to expect on DT&LN, GQ unveiled a final leak from the project, “I Know.”

With Khrysis on the boards providing a neo-soul sounding beat, “I Know” is a reflection on the fickleness of friends, those who didn’t believe in you then, having to accept your present success. And although Rapsody’s merciless guest bars and Rocki Evans’ gospel-esque crooning on the hook assert themselves on the track, from the moment GQ drops his opening lines, “I turn a booth to a Grand Canyon – Rock with me”, it’s understood that “I Know” is a showcase of the rapper’s storytelling and rhyming abilities.

GQ’s Death Threats & Love Notes: The Prelude album, on which the Rapsody and Rocki Evans-featured “I Know” appears, arrives March 24th.
