Back in January, we ducked back behind the curtains after Stalley’s headlining show at Fitzgerald’s and saw Mannie Fresh, relaxing and enjoying some of the food. He had appeared earlier in the night to perform an impromptu set of his classic Cash Money tracks but now he seemed in a much calmer element. Not too far from him was Yasiin Bey (b/k/a Mos Def) and the two of them traded stories for a small crowd about Dilla while Fresh played new beats from his phone.

“We actually mixing it right now,” Fresh said about the project, which is set to be only 10 tracks. “We recorded way more than that,” clarified Mannie. “But rather than to [just] have somebody say like, ‘Oh, wow’ – I think a lot of times when you do that you throw away music. So, I just wanna give people like ten bangers and let’s be out.”
