Toronto Doesn’t F–k With Wale, At Least Musically Brandon Caldwell February 20, 2013 Flicks, Sports Wale surely does have it bad with people on the other side of the spectrum remembering who he is or what he looks like. Last night in Washington, the Toronto Raptors were busy playing the Washington Wizards when Rudy Gay started to get hot and made a few taunting gestures at the D.C. rapper who was sitting courtside. This of course prompted the color analysts for the Raptors television games to openly remark about not giving a damn about him one iota. Lost in this is that the Raptors beat the Wizards, 96-88 behind Gay’s 24 points but the highest point of slander comes at the very end of the first clip where the announcers calmly retort, “Someone on Twitter can tell me if they’ve even heard of Wale (pronounced Wall-A). He’s not Drake. That’s for sure.” And like most moments of Wale being peeved, Twitter does exactly that and he goes to confront the announcers during the third quarter – to little effect. Damn sure isn’t great to be a dreadlocked rapper who’s a fan of the NBA these days.
