There’s a bit of a backstory to SL Jones latest quick fix for the people Trapper’s Delight. Over the summer during its initial recording, Jonesy was in a legal fight that pretty much put the tape in jeopardy and thanks to the judge’s good graces, he’s out and able to craft a full length project with Alabama’s M16. Jonesy has already become sort of a master of these one producer/one rapper projects, wheeling through 2012 mostly with DJ Burn One on Paraphernalia.

Trapper’s Delight only last seven tracks in sort of snack pack fashion but it builds upon the haunting drama that “Let’m Talk” & “Just Like That” rode from Jonesy’s paranoia during those days wondering if he’d be behind bars or not. He’s a cult favorite for a reason, riding along the same narratives as a trapper gone legit and free to enjoy his successes – while always looking over his shoulder for Atlanta PD.
