Robert Chew, the actor who played Joseph “Proposition Joe” Stewart on HBO’s acclaimed series The Wire has died according to former co-star Michael K. Williams. There’s no official report outside of that of Williams Instagram account which posted a photo of the actor along with, “R.I.P to the talented Mr. Robert Chew #propjoe”. While his acting credits are thin like most actors on the show with close ties to creator David Simon, Chew was a noted acting coach as well as owner of some of the funniest lines on the show.
