“Someone asked me the other day, ‘So you’re just done? Done… with music?’… I don’t want to put anything out that is… something I don’t love. You just don’t get that every day. You have to wait for it.”

Clearly, having spent the last couple of years doing movies has rubbed off on Justin Timberlake. The singer-turned-actor has kept fans tortured at bay for years with the prospect of whether or not he’d return to the booth for a third time (especially after leaving us with¬†FutureSex LoveSounds,¬†which to this day still goes as hard as it did back in 2006). Twitter damn near broke when rumors started swirling around that Timberlake had a “big announcement” planned for Thursday, December 10th at 9:01 AM Eastern time. Nearly everyone suspected that the announcement would be a single dropping, a single hinted to feature Jay-Z and Beyonce’ and have longtime Timberlake collaborator Timbaland on production. Timbo didn’t help matters with his own cryptic tweet.

But sure enough, at 9:01 AM (11:01 Central time) this morning, Timberlake tweeted this.

The result of all the hype and anticipation building was – that’s right – merely ANOTHER teaser, a one-minute long trailer if you will, of Timberlake pronouncing that he’s “ready” while putting on a set of headphones and stepping into a recording booth. The good news is, the good folks at Complex Magazine are suggesting that Timberlake is in fact cooking up a new album. The bad news is, apparently the countdown is only beginning. And at last count, we won’t find out what it is we’re waiting for, for another three days. Can we trust ourselves Timberlake to not lead us on a second time?
