To date, the greatest in-game dunk in basketball history belongs to Vince Carter leaping over a 7’2″ Frenchman in the Olympics. The dunk was so dirty that the Frenchman never made it into the NBA, or for that matter became memorable enough for me to remember his actual name.

Now Victor Dukes, a 6’3″ HS sophomore in Arkansas might have staked claim to the best dunk of the year, even if it happened on New Years Eve. Dukes isn’t high on many 2015 college basketball recruiting boards but the kid has enough hops to make people take interests. Case in point Dukes springboarding on a hapless Manila HS defender and getting so high he damn near pull off Carter’s fabeled “honey dip” dunk from the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest.

The best part of the video aside from the dunk? How the defender reacted after getting posterized. Either he wanted to faint or crawl into a hole and wait until a whistle blew to save his life.
