Through the growls and yells behind “Dallas, Texas”, Bobby Sessions found a center for all of his hostility and inner turmoil. Passion is as raw and honest an effort from the Dallas emcee who’s pretty much gone through it all in the past year just in search of a bit of peace. There’s homages to the James Harper incident that incited a near riot in South Dallas this past summer as Sessions chants with fervor, “if you die my nigga will they remember you?”. Most of its keyed in the life of anarchy, loud enough to destroy a few subwoofers while the grisly bassline of “Ugh” with Cash’mir offers a portrait of a man who no longer finds apathy appealing to the soul. Sessions kept the production mostly in the family with BrainGang Blue tackling two tracks, the Katt Williams sampled “Blunts” & “Woah” while BrainGang X’Zavier handles the punishing “James Harper”, “Dallas, Texas” and more.
