If you just found your way onto Twitter this morning then you’ve heard the giant ripple effect that is Taylor Swift appearing on Good Morning America and the show announcing that Swift had sold 4 million copies of her new album RED. Only problem was, that’s not all that accurate.

According to USA Today’s Nasvhille correspondent Brian Mansfield, Swift’s album hasn’t sold 4 million copies but rather the individual songs from the album have sold a combined four million. The slip from GMA is natural considering that Swift’s last album, 2010’s Speak Now sold 1 million copies in its first week on the shelf.

In a realm where album sales pretty much drive the conversation of being great or not, expect plenty of people on Twitter to claim they were in the gym listening to Fearless before a big game or at Starbucks raving about the new Tay Swift LP while also discussing Mali & Libya.
