According to Prefix Magazine and other sources, the house that Elliott Wilson built might be printing its final issues. XXL, a staple in the hip-hop magazine community for the past decade plus is said to be going through turmoil. It’s parent company, Harris Publications is said to be killing off the brand from its online work to print as early as 2013. However, editors at the magazine are vehemently denying such reports.

If true, it would be another casualty in the already noted decline of print media, especially with music journalism and the emergence of online blogs gaining the same cache. If you recall, VIBE closed up shop in 2009 only to be reborn with new investors and more input placed on enlarging their online presence.
