We get it now, Francis Ocean is what you would call “unorthodox” with his video releases. They come out of nowhere, left-field timing with right-brain execution. Such is the case with “Pyramids”, its ten minute audio epic scaled down to a seven-minute trip (literally), lifting the second section of the song and building a visual around that.

Attempting to explain the sweaty decadence behind your current favorite R&B singer walking into a strip club after pulling a slight Akira move and blur effecting his way down a highway is one thing. Simply watching the piece and then attempting to figure out what exactly you just witnesses is another. Meanwhile, the rest of America got hip to Ocean’s talents via an appearance on Saturday Night Live last night and the cool kids like us? We just want more outstanding visuals for cuts like “Pink Matter” or the potential video-of-the-year “Bad Religion”.
