Released this past June, Ice-T’s Something From Nothing: The Art Of Rap celebrated lyricism and the artform of rapping itself. Despite being given a limited release to the country, the film grossed over $300,000 yet some fans felt jaded at the fact the film didn’t reach their neighborhood cinema.

Last night, VH1 premiered the documentary as part of their Rock Docs series. Narrated by Ice-T, the film highlights some of rap’s greatest orators from Grandmaster Caz to Chuck D to Eminem and more and gets their thoughts on rap as a pivotal tool in the growth of hip-hop. You can purchase the DVD here as it goes on sale this upcoming Tuesday.
