Owl City Comments on Working With Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus

In preparation for the release of album Misummer StationOwl City‘s Adam Young reveals to CBS Local what his experience was like working with an artist he has always admired: Blink-182’s very own Mark Hoppus.

“I’ve been a big fan of blink-182 for years, since junior high. I feel like everybody I know learned to play guitar and started learning early blink-182 songs. So that was me for sure,” he said.

Still hyped on the excitement from working with one of his idols, he even confesses that he is still in shock that the artist is featured on one of his songs:

“I have the final mastered version of my record in my CD player in my car still. I get in the car when I come home and I forget it’s in there and I just turn it on and it will just land on the song ‘Dementia’ and I hear Mark’s voice in Verse 2 and I’m like, ‘Which blink song is this again ‘cuz it’s cool?’” he said. “And then I’m like, ‘Wait a second. It’s my song and Mark is on my song!’ I can’t believe it because he’s a brilliant artist.”

Russian Police Search For More Pussy Riot Members

Following the sentencing of three members of the infamous Pussy Riot band, the track “Puttin Lights Up the Fires” was released, resulting in the Russian police’s decision to continue searching for more members of the controversial band that were involved in the February protest. Convicted on charges of “hooliganism motivated by religious hatred,” three of the band members were sentenced to two years in prison for their “crimes” and I guess it is not enough to make a statement, but to find and indite all the members of the band:

“The probe is currently ongoing, search activities are being conducted,” a spokesperson for the Moscow police told AFP (via Business Insider).

At this rate, anyone could be a part of the band with a mask, colorful attire, and a deep resentment for authority.

Nicki Minaj The Next American Idol Judge?

Rumors are abound that “Pound the Alarm” singer Nicki Minaj is close to sealing the deal to take the recently available American Idol judge seat a source states about the negotiation with FOX network, of whom which declined to comment. Other sources report that Us Weekly was told that Nicki was a definite shoe in and that things are practically set in stone:

“I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it. A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening.” Another insider told the magazine that the rapper is “100 percent confirmed to judge ‘American Idol.’”

Already starting controversy as the Pepsi spokeswoman joins a Coca-Cola sponsored show, Mariah Carey allegedly hung up the phone on the execs when given then message that the much younger Nicki would be joining the panel, mistakenly under the impression that she would be the only woman on the show. Not to mention the slur of Twitter accounts:

Not bashing the artist, but I am not really sure if Nicki Minaj is the answer to reviving the already decreased ratings on the show.
