Our basketball fix will soon be settled when the US Men’s Olympic Basketball team takes the court in London but before the final group was selected, a scrimmage had to be had just to make everything seem legit. Yes, a lack of centers is a glaring hole with only Tyson Chandler slated to be a man in the middle as the US squad is filled with forwards and guards.

Guards
– Chris Paul
– Russell Westbrook
– Deron Williams
– James Harden
– Kobe Bryant

Forwards
LeBron James
Carmelo Anthony
Kevin Durant
Andre Iguodala
Kevin Love
Blake Griffin

Center
Tyson Chandler

The highlight of the scrimmages however happen to be Kyrie Irving & Blake Griffin. Griffin and his unusual brand of freak athleticism should delight London as he puts away hammer dunks on the fast break. His show out in Vegas had a few interesting wrinkles from power dunks to graceful 360s and an Eastbay off the backboard. Irving’s handles here look straight out of NBA Street as for at least nine seconds he outclasses the entire opposing team on defense. Coach K knew what Irving was capable of when he had him at Duke, hence Irving’s spot on the Men’s Select Team. It won’t be long before Irving is suiting up for the US in 2016, possibly as the league’s best PG by then.
