What started as a simple gathering of friends and supporters exploded into a weekly regional competition where battle rap became the general premise but networking and career advancement became the likely follow up after. Brought forth by Teresa Waldon & Suzie, owners of local clothing store SF2, Kickback Sundays has been profiled by entities such as the Houston Press, Houston Trend and us here, bringing forth some of the area’s more prolific new emcees to the forefront.

With the second season of Kickback revolving around Club Sugarhill, SF2’s North location and recently at Warehouse Live, the next logical step was to give a showcase to the artists who’ve not only proven their talents with the open mic system but their diligence for showing up week after week to place their name on the sign in list and let their mic skills develop.

On August 16th, Lyric, C4, C.I.T.Y., Flame, Young G, Luke Duke, Mac Fame, KDOGG, ET & Trail Blaze will all take the stage at Warehouse Live to not only highlight how prolific the second season has been for Kickback but to detail how fruitful the process has been for all involved.
