There’s a reason why my ears may have held off of “Saratoga” by Oklahoma’s own Josh Sallee. Not because of the Finals and the Thunder being in somewhat of a rut thanks to two straight losses but because I’ve been digging into Sallee’s full length tape Probable Flaws where Sallee is slowly but surely finding his own voice and developing a sense of consistency with his craft. The Stackz produced “Saratoga”, titled after the turning point battle in the American Revolution flutters with piano strikes, militaristic snare drums and Sallee punching the beat at every single turn with a winding double-time flow and confidence of hopes to amount to something bigger. Sallee’s untitled follow-up to Probable Flaws is on the way.
