Look, as a Houstonian I choose to remember Stevie Franchise in a better light. You know, when he and Cuttino Mobley formed a promising backcourt, his runner up finish in the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest and we thought trading him to get a then in his prime Tracy McGrady would equate to playoff wins and possible NBA Finals appearances. But Steve Francis the rapper? You sir have to grow on me.

Yes, the former co-Rookie of the Year from 1999-2000 is currently forging his career as a rap star built upon his NBA earnings and refusal to not ball too out of control. Here’s the thing, between his sudden mid-life crisis, obvious homage to a Rick Ross track for a record label and the usage of a chick who looks like she carries two watermelons up top for cleavage, I’d say Steve has the generic parts for a rapper quite down pat.

As for “Finer Thangs”? Yes, and sadly no.
