Following last month’s release of tracks over classic Jay-Z instrumentals, Jon Connor stays in Michigan and parks his whip right outside Marshall Mathers’ old house. Partial concept tape but full out lyrical assault, The People’s Rapper LP finds the Flint, MI native brushing back the chants of “been there done that” and flexing his muscle over the instrumentals that have inspired a generation of rappers to pick up a mic to begin with.

There are concepts like “Cleaning Out My Closet” (the song pretty much begs for it) and then there’s tracks like “Role Model”, a personal Eminem favorite of mine where Connor just loses his mind. All pretty much tell you the same thing I’m telling you, download and proceed to right through the most blue collar city in America thanks to Connor & Don Cannon.
