Event Recap: The-Dream at Fitzgerald’s T. Piper March 30, 2012 Concert Reviews, Events Two years away from the stage is a long time for some artists. For The-Dream it seemed like it was only enough time to get back in his groove. For a near 90 minutes, Terius Nash stretched over his three previous LPs, dabbling in fan favorites as well as letting fans enjoy his latest single “ROC” as well. Elsewhere on the main bill, Dallas Blocker kept it G for the ladies and fellas in attendance with a solid performance of “Rock Your Body”, “Hold Of Me” and other select cuts, CJ Hilton earned a few new supporters with a strong performance of “So Fresh” sans Nas and one hell of an acapella close out but the battle between Jack Freeman & Lee-Lonn continued to rage on. The two of them, responsible for some of the best hooks currently found in Houston’s rap scene each spent fifteen minutes getting footing on the Fitz stage. Freeman with his slow yet invigorating set thanks to performances of “Away” and “Slow Dance” and Lee with an amusing, entertaining portion highlighted by his performance of “Hands” & “Maybe” even without his band. Check to see a brief glimpse of The-Dream’s set during the show.
