Stream: Rapsody – The Black Mamba

Day & A Dream #BreakoutQueen Rapsody looks to continue the tradition she set last year with two strong albums in Thank H.E.R. Now and For Everything with her first EP of 2012, The Black Mamba.
While the album’s title implies that it might be an ode to Laker Kobe Bryant, “The Black Mamba” speaks more so to the lethal efficiency with which Rapsody delivers her rhymes throughout the album’s seven tracks. Khrysis, Eric G., and of course 9th Wonder are on the boards throughout the album, while The Black Mamba bears only two features from Kooley High’s Tab One and Bluu Suede. “Right Now” was considered one of the frontrunners for a standout track on the album, with its loud drums worthy of an ESPN promo, but definitely don’t sleep on “Respect Due” and the jazz/hip-hop fusion “Leave Me ‘Lone,” which are more than repeat-worthy in their own rights.
