When Reality Crushes Super-Saiyan Dreams
Let me not pretend like I wasn’t one of the many who at one point or another wished I could go into Super-Saiyan mode back when I was little. I was definitely up when I should have been sleeping at night watching episodes of Real Sex on HBO and Dragon Ball Z, hopping around the room in a makeshift gi and pushing my hands out in front of me like I expected fireballs to shoot out of them at any minute. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be.
Perhaps I just didn’t believe in myself enough like this kid here. In what’s perhaps one of the most suspense-filled slash inspirational slash downright hilarious intros to a video of all time, we’re prompted for what appears to be a startling revelation as young Jaylin confesses he’s about to tell us “something that’s been on my heart for a long time.” What follows next… well, you can’t make this sh*t up. Jaylin spends the remaining 3 minutes “powering up” and, although his facial expression isn’t exactly one I would associate with Super Saiyan, it’s certainly up there amongst the ranks of Super Failures.
