Earlier this month, we remarked that Worldwide looked and felt like a young 8Ball live. In the same vein that Big K.R.I.T. has taken Southern aesthetic circa 1993-96 and made it feel brand new all over again, Worldwide treats San Antonio like the proverbial bowling ball, running through different sections of Texas all while maintaining his own identity.

As The World Turns finds its balance nestled between progressive rap samples and the tireless bass and horn driven love of the South. “Struggle To Be Free” lifts Paul Simon’s “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover” with a stomach punch dose of reality while on the outside looking in and from that point on, Worldwide sticks to his script of being a really good rapper from an overlooked musical city. The road to stardom may have begun with the Redbull tour but As The World Turns proves that a seismic shift in how you view all of Texas hip-hop is coming.
