In the clip for 1994’s “Black Hole Sun”, Soundgarden painted the picture for a grunge world that was void of Kurt Cobain thanks to the Nirvana lead singer’s shocking suicide in April of that year. Who knew the song would get renewed life in the form of a D’Angelo cover where the reclusive R&B singer stretches out Cornell’s lyrics in a funk brigade with a small peppering of Hendrix for good measure? If this is any telling that the singer’s long rumored third album with ?uestlove & Q-Tip is finally coming to form then count us in.
