Call this interesting or perplexing. Bears wide receiver Sam Hurd was arrested Thursday on federal drug charges after authorities busted him attempting to buy multiple kilos of cocaine from an undercover agent.

According to the federal complaint, Hurd was arrested Wednesday night after meeting with the agent at a Chicago restaurant. The complaint contends Hurd told the agent that he was interested in buying five to 10 kilograms of cocaine and 1,000 pounds of marijuana per week to distribute.

Here’s the question, why is a backup wide receiver for a solid NFL franchise attempting to be one of the biggest drug dealers in Chicago, which has a Hall Of Fame of legendary drug dealers? Not to mention Hurd already had to talk to Homeland Security earlier this year when $88,0000 was seized from one of his cars back in Dallas.

Oh well.
