The original title for this was “Adele Has A Ton Of Grammy Noms And Will Possibly Win All Of Them” but we decided to be neat. Nominations for the 54th Grammy Awards were handed out last night and to no one’s surprise, Adele’s 21 got six nominations including the big ones of Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year (“Rolling In The Deep”) & Record Of The Year*. Kanye West, award show savior and probable temper tantrum thrower was granted a show high 7 nominations but none of which are in the Album Of The Year category for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Instead, that honor will be battled upon by Bruno Mars’ Doo-Wops & Hooligans, Foo Fighters Wasting Light, Born This Way from Lady Gaga, Rihanna’s Loud and the aforementioned Adele.

Kanye’ll have to settle for battling himself for Best Rap Album as MBDTF is up against Watch The Throne, Pink Friday and others. Newcomers J. Cole & Nicki Minaj were both nominated for Best New Artist along with dubstep king Skrillex (who has five noms in all, same for Lil Wayne). For a list of the awards many may care about, hit the jump and for the full list click here. The Grammys will air live on February 12th from Los Angeles.

* By the way, we’ve figured out the difference between Song Of The Year & Record Of The Year. Song of the Year is for the songwriters & Record Of The Year is for the artist. Write the song, get the song award. Don’t write yet perform the song, get the record award. Easy.
