Seeing that everybody and their mother wanted to release a mixtape on Halloween yesterday, a few got overlooked around these parts (which isn’t a slight by any means). Thus, here’s a short list of the tapes that you may have or have not grabbed during your random splurging on the internet.

By the way, there’s news of things like this (read “mixtapes on the internet”) going bye-bye. More on that later but for now, enjoy your audio treats.

FAT JOE – THE DARKSIDE, VOL. 2 | Download

Joe’s last release got the ho-hum treatment from critics and fans alike but that only makes the sequel to The Darkside worth a listen given the fact it’s getting passed out for the absolute free. Raekwon, Jadakiss, French Montana and others join the now slim Joey Crack in a little hardcore NYC hip-hop.

YOUNG CHRIS – THE REVIVAL | Download

Thought Meek Mill was the only man from Philly making noise? Think again as Young Chris continues his growth away from The Roc with The Revival. All of Philly rides with Chris off of GP so take notice as he links up with Cardiak for a full tape with the likes of Vado & Fred The Godson. Yep, Philly stand up.

SHORT DAWG – THE ADVENTURES OF DRANKENSTEIN | Download

Would you know Short Dawg is in Young Money? Given the fact he’s been around Weezy for quite a while now, Elvis Freshly’s been the one talented kid in the crew that hasn’t gotten a single push. That can no longer be said considering that Short’s official major introduction comes in the form of a purple addled mixtape with Mack Maine, Birdman, Z-Ro, Timbaland, Propain & others joining the drank monster for a ride. Keep your styrofoams handy, boys & girls.

JIM JONES – VAMPIRE LIFE: WE OWN THE NIGHT | Download

Harlem got overrun by blood suckers last night and the leader of the gang, Capo himself made damn sure everybody got to eat. Need any other reason to grab this from Jones? Didn’t think so. Dipset!

IRON SOLOMON – RED RUM RADIO | Download

In the age of battle rappers securing deals, Iron Solomon has a win/loss record like Floyd Mayweather, only it includes a hell of a lot more punchlines and no signs of ducking anybody. DJ Booth got the rights to host the spitkickers tape filled with freestyles and original tracks. Doesn’t hurt that Cassidy & DMC also lend bars for the cause.
