Our good friend Grant from SC Knows was on hand last night to catch Lil Wayne at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for the latest leg of the I Am Still Music II Tour.

In short, Wayne was electric as usual on stage. Hype as all possible, Weezy brought guests (The Game) performed numerous hits from his massive catalog of tracks and acted almost as if he hadn’t been in Houston already this year.

While Weezy has definitely reinvented his live show, frequent collaborator Rick Ross hasn’t really. Ross’ music isn’t tailor made for stadium style rock shows, mostly clubs and seedy atmospheres where bravado is the name of the game even if he brought out Texas mainstays Bun B & Trae Tha Truth. Still, an eclectic bunch of artists including Lloyd, Far East Movement and the “I’d Love To Wake Up Next To Her” look of Keri Hilson all were serviceable with Hilson using the stage to the best of her abilities and Lloyd sticking to tatted up mic rocker.
