With an all-star lineup in tow, the Akron duo of Patrick Carney & Dan Auberbach (The Black Keys) waste no time putting together two follow ups to their lauded 2010 album Brothers. Speaking with SPIN, the duo discuss that the entirely Danger Mouse produced album and its notable differences to their previous one. “It’s the fastest we’ve ever played. The new album doesn’t sound like Brothers. It doesn’t have that open soul feel to it,” Auberbach stated.

Not only is that album coming but the hard working gentlemen from Akron are putting together a solid follow up to BlackRoc, their rap-rock hybrid that featured among others, Mos Def, Raekwon and more. In the promo clip below, the guest list this go round looks daunting as the likes of Jay Electronica, Talib Kweli, The Cool Kids, Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa & Sean Price will be putting sixteens around Auberbach choruses & guitar work. Our hipster family couldn’t be any happier.
