After Sony pulled its 1,000+ films from availability on Netflix’s streaming capabilities, Starz announced earlier that it will not renew it’s contract with the service on February 12, 2012. Netflix relies heavily on Starz for new movies and content. The move not only puts a dent in new films appearing on Netflix but also Disney & Pixar films who were licensed with Starz.

The news immediately affected trading yesterday as Netflix’s stock dropped 9 percent. There’s still time for the company to pull a deal off with other providers (hopefully HBO) for content, otherwise we may be looking at the beginning of the end of a great feature.
