Lil Wayne Breaks The Throne’s iTunes Record

Score one for the Goblin (or Birdman’s checking account). According to HHNM, Lil Wayne‘s Tha Carter IV set a new iTunes benchmark for first week sales with 300,000 copies already sold in four days of being in the online store. That snaps The Throne‘s previous benchmark of 290,000 copies in a week for Watch The Throne.

Wayne’s ninth album is projected to have the second highest first week sales total this year with 850,000 to 900,000 copies sold coming behind Lady Gaga‘s Born This Way which sold 1.1 million copies in its first week earlier this year.
