Mixtape: Miss Mykie – That Pink That Green IV Bradford J. Howard August 30, 2011 Mixtapes Local Houston artist and owner of the most distinguishable mohawk in the city Miss Mykie has made the That Pink That Green mixtape series into her own franchise of sorts. But unlike most “sequel-laden series,” with every That Pink, That Green mixtape – and especially with her earlier release this year, the standalone Love Repair EP – Miss Mykie continues to build upon an incredible talent that blends a great voice with catch-you-by-surprise-until-you-start-quoting-them-yourself punchlines. She consistently puts on for her city and for her sorority and, not to mention, she’s pretty good at taking beats from popular songs and turning them into her own “MeMixes.” Miss Mykie hopes to continue that tradition with her most recent addition to the TPTG series, That Pink That Green IV, which dropped at midnight. TPTG4 features such cuts as MeMixes of Kelly Rowland‘s “Motivation” and Ryan Leslie‘s “The Glory”; as well as original joints such as “I’m The Best” featuring Rick Ross and “If It’s Going Down,” produced as always by Yung Chill and the Keys & Ink family. I can’t tell you, to borrow Miss Mykie’s own words, “What It Iz?!” but I can tell you what TPTG4 is NOT – it’s NOT the last we’ve seen of Miss Mykie as an artist. It’s NOT just another project of covers but no substance – and here I’ll avoid glaring at Sorry 4 The Wait – but something that should definitely satisfy the legion of Mykie fans. And ideally, it’s NOT going to be slept on. After all, that’s what you’re here for, right? Download link below, tracklist after the jump.
