2011 saw Jhené Aiko drop one of the best R&B albums of the year – and it was free! – in sailing soul(s). sailing easily introduced a wealth of people to a voice that’s been around for a while, but hadn’t always been noticed or given the attention it deserved until now.

Now, over a month after giving us the visuals for one of the better cuts off sailing soul(s), Jhené has dropped the video for “Snapped,” the first single off soul(ed) out, the forthcoming follow-up to sailing. While the anime-set video is impressive, don’t let it distract you from the awesome song that serves as its soundtrack. Featuring production from Kevin Roosevelt, “Snapped” has a nice riding beat; and the romantic, heartstring-tugging Jhene is gone on this track, replaced instead with one that’s much more raw – as evidenced by the song’s bridge, when she says, “I line ’em up/ Shoot ’em down!” – but still every bit as sexy. Check out the video below, and check back with DayAndADream soon, as we’ll def have the track when the audio leaks.
