J. Cole – Can’t Get Enough (f. Trey Songz)
After delay… followed by a mixtape… followed by a delay… followed by another delay… followed by another delay and a mixtape, it seems the artist currently known as Simba and more commonly known as J. Cole is finally going to give the people an album. As DayAndADream pointed out earlier this year, J. Cole will be (allegedly… can’t be too careful) dropping Cole World: The Sideline Story this September, and to bide the time between now and September (or whenever the next official single leaks), J. Cole recently let loose this track.
“Can’t Get Enough” is Jermaine’s smoothest cut since “In the Morning,” and it adopts essentially the same formula: popular R&B singer on the hook and J. Cole dropping a nice flow over an infectious beat. Except on “Can’t Get Enough,” Trey Songz serves as the singer and J. Cole speeds up his rhyme scheme, with a strong assist from a strumming guitar. “Can’t Get Enough” definitely has a radio friendly sound, and while it may not be as big of a hit as “In the Morning,” you can bet it’ll have ladies in the club singing along to it.
