Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson & Larry Bird Cover NBA 2k12

This year, His Airness won’t be the only cover boy for the NBA’s leading basketball video game. Joining Michael Jordan who covered last year’s best selling NBA 2k11 will be Magic Johnson & Larry Bird which makes for three separate covers. Bird will be donning his green Celtics jersey while Magic will be rocking the gold Lakers jersey he rocked while leading the Lakers to five titles in the 80s.

Jason Argent, vice president of marketing at Take-Two’s 2K Sports business, says the company is bringing Jordan back as part of a “three-year extended partnership.” He said the company wanted to expand their brand after the game’s success of last year.

“Bringing Michael Jordan to the virtual hardwood last year was a huge success for NBA 2K11, but we didn’t want to stop there,” Argent said in a statement.

So far, there’s no telling what 2K has cooking up as the sequel to arguably the greatest basketball game ever made but knowing them, there’ll be plenty to do since the league will be in a lockout.
