One of the more talked about documentaries in recent memory, Beats, Rhymes, and Life: The Travels Of A Tribe Called Quest will be released to the public on Friday. Looking to clear the air about a lot of the “politrickin” behind the scenes with the film, both Q-Tip & Ali Shaeed Muhammad sat down with Hot 97’s own Angie Martinez to discuss where they stand with director Michael Rappaport and the film itself.

The group approves the film and Phife Dawg called in later to reassure that fact. One of the reasons why Tip was upset with the film was beccause of the lack of actual Tribe music in the doc as well as contract issues & producer credits. All seems to be fine now after a few edits. In other news from The Abstract, he says he did some production for Watch The Throne but doesn’t know if any of his material made the final cut.
