Since 14, Baton Rouge producer John Wade has been attempting to perfect his sound, working with numerous artists including Houston’s own Rebel Je’. However, Wade believes his work with South Carolina’s own J.O. Cool will not only put BR on the map in terms of talent aside from its flock of incarcerated rappers and indie artists but change what the sound of southern hip-hop has been for the past decade or so.

“Put It On” sees very little in terms of horn work from Wade as he lets trunk rattling bass filter through to let Cool bounce his way through a hazy atmosphere, aiming to knock a chick off and prove his worth in the same breath.

The duo’s debut project First Impressions drops tomorrow.
