Rapper’s Rant W/ Alibi Rankz
Rapper’s are known for voicing their opinions, this is no secret. One thing I don’t like as a rapper, is when in an interview situation, I have to stick with whatever the interviewer asks. I can’t just go, and speak freely on any subject I want. So, I’ve decided to start a new weekly article here on Day & A Dream called, Rapper’s Rant. This will be a platform where an artists can finally say anything the want. Anything that peeves them about the genre, the trends, a venue that they have a problems with, another rapper that they have a had problems with, a political issue, ANYTHING. So here we go this is the Rapper’s Rant.
Ranting Rapper: Alibi Rankz
I didn’t really know what to rant about, so I went with something that pisses me off most. There’s a lot of artists who brag a lot. I understand confidence, but I don’t wanna hear about all these connects you got, and who you know from Sony, unless you’re talking about coming together and helping me out with them connects.
Speaking as an artist who busts his ass, juggling a family, a job, and music, I can tell you about all the connects I got, and who I know, but the fact is we must be in the same place to be able to talk face to face about it. Ground yourself, as a artist. As a consumer if I can’t believe you I won’t listen, and I can say most folks I know feel the same way. As my pops says We need to stop trying to make money off of each other and unite, and make money off the market. The biggest problem in Houston is the race. A lot of artist think it’s a competition, and if I have more connects than you, then I’m winning.
Sorry folks, that right there is the reason every single artist has to resort to giving our music away. Once we unite, and stop treating this shit like a competition, then we will begin to takeover. There’s enough money for all of us. I understand expense, and it takes money to make money, but if we split everything honorably, then its a square deal. G-Code.
