To cry change and injustice stays a common motif for the downtrodden and unheard. They feed off of the negative energy thrown against them and attempt to turn it into something larger, better. For Lupe Fiasco, everything that has come against him since 2007 has come together for his upcoming LASERS album. Fiasco knows full well that his statements speak to a wide specter of the general population. Such is the power of being a sophisticated voice in hip-hop.

With hip-hop’s latest hook queen Skyler Grey joining him, Lupe’s “Words I Never Said” is like a Sherman tank riding through an apocalyptic world finally consumed with preconceived notions that evil stayed evil and nobody should question the problems on the horizon. From Obama, home foreclosures & the war on terror, Fiasco doesn’t leave any injustice unturned while rolling through Alex da Kid’s futuristic industrial production.

LASERS drops on March 8th, armed with enough teeth to bite through any critic hopefully.
