When one is beckoned to make a list, he makes it making sure every single person on the list qualifies correctly. Since we’ve already handed out awards for the best mixtapes and albums of 2010, as well as the best free releases from Houston in 2010 we might as well outline the best beatsmiths in the city.

As a duo Cristoph & Free were the backbone that kept The Show going (no pun intended). From samples to live instrumentation, the duo traded production credits all over the album with standouts including “Toast”, “The Good Shepard”, “Things Ain’t The Same”, “Somebody” & “Mr. Perfect”. Even though the two of them keeps most of the production in-house, Cristoph lend a helping hand to Thurogood’s The Appetizer EP by producing “A.M.”. Trust me, the moment they add “Things Ain’t The Same” or “Somebody” to the radio your girl will be asking, “Can you make music like that for me?!”
